Penguins take first 2 games from Flyers
The Pittsburgh Penguins took care of business in the first two games of their first round playoff series against the rival Philadelphia Flyers, including an exhilerating overtime win in Game 2.
It’s a fantastic series to watch simply from the standpoint of the bitter rivalry between the two teams that both play in the same state.
The two teams essentially split the state in half, especially when considering where each respective city is geographically located, with one in the eastern part of the state and the other from the western part.
It sets up that intriguing battle in the middle of central Pennsylvania for allegiance to one fan base or the other, though I believe most in that area are Penguins supporters.
While the Flyers are down 2-0 in the series, they now have the advantage of returning to Philadelphia and playing in the friendly confines of the Wachovia Center. They have played Pittsburgh tough the first two games and this series seems far from over.
